Metadata Editor interface and functionality:
How do I access the Metadata Editor?
- Log into your account and select the Metadata button corresponding to the target data domain.
- Select Edit to open an editable form
- If you are ready to submit metadata for a new period
- If you are still updating metadata for on an existing period and have not yet submitted it to the IMF for review
- If you have recently received an email from the IMF requesting further clarification , additions or changes;
- Select View to open a read only form:
- If you wish to review the metadata for periods previously submitted and disseminated by the IMF .
- If you wish to review the metadata for periods already submitted but not processed or disseminated by the IMF

Metadata Editor interface and functionality:
- Save → Click to save recorded information for future review and editing. The Save button will not submit the questionnaire to the IMF
- Submit → Click to save and submit the questionnaire. Once submitted, the questionnaire can only be edited after being disseminated by the IMF
- Exit → Click to exit the Metadata Questionnaire without saving any changes. All recent changes/edits will be lost
- Help → Click to open the help document
- Clear → Click to clear all recent entries
- Notes → Click to send a message or note to the IMF upon submitting the MRF
- Print → Click on the Print icon to display a printable version of the Metadata Questionnaire (html file format)
- Status → Check the status of the current MRF
- Edit → Click: to continue making changes or edit answers in the MRF for the active period since the questionnaire has not yet been submitted to IMF at this stage
- Submitted → the active period has been submitted to IMF for review and has not yet been released or disseminated. User may view the selected period, however, it is not editable. The save, submit and notes buttons are not active. Users will receive an email confirming the submission of the MRF.
- Re-edit → is used to return the questionnaire to the reporter to change or revise the metadata in their MRF. Email sent to reporter to ask for further clarification, identify pending issues, and inform of availability of MRF for editing
- Posted → MRF for the active period is now disseminated and it is viewable on the data domain (e.g. BOP) dissemination website. Reporters will receive an email confirming the release their MRF and its availability for editing if deemed necessary.
